“Only passions, great passions, can elevate the soul to great things”. Denis Diderot
OK now, so how many weeks have you been turning up to the gym? 10? 11? That really is great and if that is not a habit that existed three months ago you should congratulate yourself. You do want to make the most of your time don’t you? You are coming here to produce a result aren’t you? Well there is a way you can almost guarantee you will make the most of your time and produce outstanding results. Add psychology! Add Commitment! Add emotion! Add passion! Have you ever tried to lift a heavy weight or run a certain distance without really committing to it? Chances are if you approach an exercise or a workout as just a motion you have to get through you aren’t making the most of your efforts.
“If the going is real easy, beware, you may be headed down hill.” Unknown
What would happen if you approached that workout with burning passionate desire! What would happen if you went into any effort with determination and pride at stake? What would happen if you thought deeply about something that really motivates you? – something that stirs your emotions, something you are passionate about! You could run that kilometer for your children. You could lift that weight for your partner, and then do five extra for your whole family. It could be anything that stirs your emotions and inspires passion and strength in you. Who do you need to be stronger for? For yourself? If you can switch on your emotions and get passionate about your health and fitness you will not only get better results from your time in the gym. That excitement will spill over into other areas of your life. It must come from somewhere within you, somewhere between your heart and your head. Once you have found something to be passionate about – your energy will double – and that energy can be expressed in the gym and anywhere else in your life!
That may sound corny hey? Or cheesy? But it works and it’s about connecting with your inner strength and bringing that to the forefront of your life! You can dismiss this idea and stay where you are or open your mind and give it a try. I bet you are automatically stronger, fitter, more progressive and more positive.
“Life engenders life. Energy creates energy. It is by spending oneself that one becomes rich.” Sarah Bernhardt
