Back Story
My parents fled war-torn Vietnam. What they endured in their lifetime can’t be summarised in a few sentences. They worked tirelessly to put food on the table and get me through school—often at the expense of their own health.
Growing up under some gentle “tiger parenting,” academics always came first. I spent most of my time indoors with Lego, tutoring, and TV. I was shy, introverted, and a little on the tubby side.
That changed when my uncle signed me up for a local soccer team. I resisted at first, but that decision changed my life. He took it upon himself to get me to the park, to training, and to games.
My Why
Through sport and movement, I discovered self-confidence—and the mental clarity that comes from realising what your body can achieve with the right mindset. Without that experience, I likely would’ve followed the same path as my parents: poor nutrition, lack of sleep, overworking, and overeating.
Since then, I’ve developed a deep passion for health and fitness. I’ve competed in multiple sports at a solid level, earned a Medical Science degree, worked through several injuries, and now coach others to achieve their own health goals.
Why do I choose to live a healthy lifestyle? To future-proof myself. When I have kids—and grandkids—I want to be an active participant in the fun. I don’t want to worry about blowing out my back or struggling with daily tasks. I want to livelife, not be limited by my body.
Our bodies are a reflection of our lifestyles. As a coach, my role is to draw from my own journey to help clients take a proactive—not reactive—approach to their health. I help them build sustainable routines, train safely, and progress with purpose.
